2026 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE) Timetable for Federal Unity Colleges

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the detailed timetable for the 2026 National Common Entrance Examination (NCEE). This exam is conducted for admission into Junior Secondary School 1 (JSS 1) in Federal Unity Colleges across Nigeria.

The examination is scheduled to hold on Saturday, 6th June 2026, and candidates are expected to strictly follow the timetable and guidelines provided.

Candidates sitting for the 2026 NCEE should prepare thoroughly and adhere strictly to the timetable. Arriving early, following instructions, and maintaining discipline throughout the exam will significantly increase the chances of success.

Full 2026 NCEE Exam Timetable Breakdown

Early Morning Activities

  • 7:30am – 9:30am:
    Candidates will undergo validation and attendance marking. This period also includes sanitization procedures to ensure a safe and organized exam environment.
  • Candidates are advised to arrive early to avoid disqualification.

Paper I Session

  • 9:30am – 9:40am:
    Distribution of customized OMR answer sheets for Paper I.
  • 9:40am – 9:50am:
    Distribution of Paper I question papers.
  • 9:50am – 12:00 noon:
    Paper I Examination
    This paper is divided into two sections:
    • Part A: Mathematics and Basic Science & Technology
    • Part B: English Studies and National Values Education

This session tests candidates’ foundational knowledge in core academic subjects.

Break Period

  • 12:00 noon – 12:55pm:
    Candidates will have a break period, which also includes sanitization.
  • Students should use this time to relax and prepare for the next paper.

Paper II Session

  • 12:55pm – 1:05pm:
    Distribution of customized OMR answer sheets for Paper II.
  • 1:05pm – 1:15pm:
    Distribution of Paper II question papers.
  • 1:15pm – 2:35pm:
    Paper II Examination
    This paper is also divided into two sections:
    • Part A: Quantitative and Vocational Aptitude
    • Part B: Verbal Aptitude

This session focuses on assessing candidates’ reasoning, problem-solving, and aptitude skills.

Important Guidelines for Candidates

To ensure a smooth examination process, NECO has provided key instructions that all candidates must follow:

1. Follow Question Paper Timing

If there is any difference between the timetable and the time stated on the question paper, candidates must strictly follow the time on the question paper.

2. Extra Time for Special Candidates

  • Albino and blind candidates will be given an additional 30 minutes at the end of each paper.
  • Blind candidates must use the official NECO OBR customized braille sheets provided.

3. Prohibited Items

Candidates are strictly forbidden from bringing the following into the exam hall:

  • Mobile phones
  • Tablets and iPads
  • Smart watches, glasses, or pens
  • Programmable or scientific calculators

Violation of this rule may lead to disqualification.

4. Allowed Items

  • Candidates are permitted to use a simple calculator where necessary.
