Main duties Responsibilities of DSS

• Collecet and analyzes information abou threats to Nigeria internal security
• Monitors activities that could undermine national stability, such as terrorism, separatism and
  espionage
• Prevent and combats terrorism and insurgency within the country
• Works with other security agencies (Military, police, Immigration) to track and stop extremist groups
• Provides security for the President, Vice President, State Governors and other top government officials
• Guards strategies government buildings and facilities
• Detects and prevent foreign intelligence operations or espionage against Nigeria
• Protects classified government information and sensitive national projects
• Investigate crimes related to national security, such as treason, arms smuggling, cyber threats, and economic sabotage
• Works with law enforcement to arrest individual threatening Nigeria’s stability
• Prevents activities that may incite violence, political unrest, or destabilize the government
• Monitors political activities to ensure they remain lawful and peaceful
• Responds to internal securiy cries such as kidnappings, riots, or threats against critical infrastructure

• Cadet Officers and Detectives

Requirements/ Eligibility

• Applicant must be Nigerian by birth
• Applicants must be 1.6m height
• Must have 5 credits in a single sitting (including English Language)
• Age range: Cadets is 20 – 30 years, while that of O’level is 18 – 27 years.
• Must be single (for ladies)
• Must submit a copy of NIN slip
• NYSC discharge certificate (for Officers)
• Must submit a detailed CV
• First School Leaving certificate
• Birth certificate
• LGA certificate of origin
• 2 passport photographs
