RENEWED HOPE INITIATIVE: CAC LAUNCHES 250,000 FREE REGISTRATION FOR MSMEs

In furtherance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Initiative, the federal government today launched the free registration of 250,000 MSMEs.

The history-making event signified by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) and the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (SMEDAN).

Speaking during the ceremony, the Registrar-General/CEO of CAC, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, SAN, said the 250,000 free business-name registration of micro and small enterprises across Nigeria will be executed in collaboration with SMEDAN.

Hussaini Ishaq Magaji revealed that the CAC will waive all statutory fees and ensure a seamless registration process that enables beneficiaries to receive their certificates without delay.

Ishaq Magaji therefore added that SMEDAN will mobilise, prepare, and profile eligible businesses, providing them with unique identification numbers.

To guarantee transparency and measurable impact, Magaji said both organisations will jointly promote awareness, monitor progress, and share data responsibly.

In his remarks, Director General/CEO of SMEDAN, Charles Odii, described the initiative as another landmark achievement for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Charles Odii, who maintained that small businesses contribute immensely to Nigeria’s GDP growth, highlighted a series of MSMEs empowerment schemes undertaken under the Renewed Hope Initiative of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

CAC News reports that the high point of the event was the signing of the MOU between the two agencies to ensure smooth implementation of the project.
