About Kano Postgraduate Scholarship 2025

The Kano State Postgraduate Scholarship Programme is an initiative by the Kano State Government to support qualified indigenes pursuing advanced studies at the master’s or doctoral level. The program aims to enhance human capital development by sponsoring students in various fields critical to the state’s growth.

Beneficiaries are selected based on merit, academic performance, and the strategic importance of their chosen field of study. The scholarship covers tuition fees, living expenses, and other related costs, ensuring recipients can focus on their education and contribute meaningfully to Kano State’s development upon graduation.

Year before last 550 students were sponsored for Master’s programmes in specialised fields at universities in India and Uganda. The government continues this legacy by opening applications for the second batch of this life-changing opportunity.

This scholarship covers tuition fees, living expenses, and other related costs,

Eligibility

To qualify for the scholarship, candidates must meet the following requirements:

Be a recognised indigene of Kano State.
Hold a First-Class Honours Degree or equivalent from a reputable university or institution.
Be aged 30 years or younger for four-to-five-year degree holders or 35 years or younger for degrees exceeding five years.
Demonstrate good health through a valid medical fitness certificate.
Be prepared to attend a physical screening interview.
Have completed the NYSC programme or possess a valid exemption or exclusion certificate.
Not currently benefit from any other scholarship or full sponsorship programme.
Submit a personal statement of approximately 500 words.
Agree to the terms and conditions of the scholarship if awarded.

Special consideration will be given to candidates with disabilities and those pursuing programmes that address gaps in state services, provided they meet the above requirements.
