What Does the Programme Offer?
Young Professional Officers work under the supervision of senior FAO staff.
They collaborate with professionals from around the world and contribute to real projects from design and implementation to monitoring and evaluation. Assignments may focus on a specific country, region, sector, or global theme. In short, you learn by doing. Successful candidates receive a two-year fixed-term contract, subject to a one-year probationary period.
Initial appointments are generally made at the P-1 step 1 level, with progression to P-1 step 2 in the second year.
