Application Deadline: September 10, 2026
Across Africa, millions of people still struggle to access quality healthcare. In many communities, patients travel long distances to reach a clinic. Essential medicines remain out of reach. Medical services are often limited, especially in underserved areas.
But here’s the good news: a new generation of African entrepreneurs is rewriting that story.
Like architects designing bridges over deep rivers, these innovators are creating solutions that connect people to better healthcare. They are developing technologies, building healthcare platforms, improving medical supply chains, and creating new ways to make healthcare accessible and affordable.
To support these changemakers, the More Health for Africa Program (MH4A) – Cohort 3 is now accepting applications.
This exciting initiative is a partnership between Boehringer Ingelheim and Villgro Africa, two organizations working together to close healthcare gaps across the continent.
Their mission is ambitious but inspiring: to improve the lives of 50 million people through sustainable social engagement models by 2030.
And they are looking for social entrepreneurs who are ready to become part of that journey.
Benefit
Imagine receiving not only financial support but also mentorship, business training, investor connections, and international exposure.
That’s exactly what the MH4A program offers.
Selected enterprises will receive catalytic funding of up to €80,000 to help expand their healthcare solutions.
But funding is only one piece of the puzzle.
Participants will also benefit from:
- Tailored business support
- Access to experienced mentors
- Investor introductions
- Capacity-building workshops
- Research support
- Masterclasses
- Networking opportunities
- International exposure in Germany and across Africa
- Access to a community of fellow healthcare innovators
Think of the program as a greenhouse for growing businesses. A seed may contain incredible potential, but without the right environment, it may never reach its full height.
The MH4A program provides that environment.
Eligibility
This opportunity is designed for post-revenue social enterprises operating in Africa.
Your organization should demonstrate:
- A strong commitment to improving healthcare access
- Annual revenue of at least $300,000
- A proven impact reaching at least 100,000 people
- A dedicated team
- A clear strategy to raise more than $1 million within the next year
The program is looking for organizations that are already creating change and are ready to take the next big step.
