The YELP fellowship targets young, innovative, and impact-driven individuals across East Africa who are passionate about leadership, governance, and sustainable development. This program provides a unique platform for participants to gain critical insights, build networks, and strengthen their leadership capacity.

YELP brings together a diverse group of emerging leaders from various sectors, including business, public service, civil society, and academia. Through a structured and intensive learning experience, fellows are equipped with the tools needed to influence change and contribute meaningfully to Africa’s growth and transformation. Program Structure

The fellowship runs for six months and is built around three high-impact seminars:

Values, Ethics & Philosophy

This module focuses on building a strong moral foundation for leadership. Participants explore ethical decision-making, personal values, and African philosophical perspectives that shape responsible leadership.

Political Economy & Development

Fellows gain a deeper understanding of how politics and economics influence development in Africa. The seminar highlights key challenges and opportunities in governance, policy-making, and sustainable growth.

Media, Art & Technology

This component teaches participants how to leverage storytelling, digital tools, and creative industries to drive social change and amplify their impact as leaders.
