The portal for Energy Training Program in Italy are now open, The Enel Foundation has officially launched the Open Global Power (OGP) 2026 Program, inviting qualified candidates worldwide to apply

Open Global Power is a global evolution of previous initiatives like Open Africa Power and Open Brazil Power. It is a high-level training platform focused on sustainable energy, policy development, and global collaboration.

  • Deadline: May 15, 2026
  • Time: 23:59 (Central European Summer Time)

Applicants are advised to apply early and ensure all documents are complete.

The program is designed to equip young professionals with the technical, regulatory, and business skills needed to drive a just, inclusive, and innovation-driven energy transition.

Participants will experience a blended learning journey that includes:

  • Online academic modules
  • Regional specialization tracks
  • A fully immersive in-person training in Italy (for top performers)

Objectives of Open Global Power 2026

The program aims to:

  • Build a global network of energy leaders
  • Provide a deep understanding of energy systems, markets, and policies
  • Promote practical solutions for local energy challenges
  • Encourage cross-regional collaboration and knowledge sharing
  • Ensure gender balance and diversity (50% female participation target)

Program Structure (4 Key Modules)

1. Foundational Module (Online)

  • Duration: 4 weeks
  • Study Time: ~6 hours/week

This module introduces core topics such as:

  • Energy systems and electricity markets
  • Energy economics and geopolitics
  • Power technologies and innovation
  • Digital tools for energy transition

Note: Participants will complete a first online assessment test.

2. Global Policy & Regulation Module (Online)

  • Duration: ~4 months (June – October)

This module focuses on:

  • Energy policy design
  • Regulatory frameworks
  • Sustainable energy access
  • Participants must complete a Country Project
  • Certificates awarded:
  • Certificate of Attendance
  • Certificate of Completion
  • Certificate of Excellence

3. Territorial Modules (Online)

  • Duration: 4 weeks

Participants explore regional energy challenges, including:

  • Local infrastructure constraints
  • Policy and institutional frameworks

  • Real-life case studies
  • Includes a second online assessment test
  • Participants are assigned based on their region

4. Final Residential Module in Italy (Fully Funded)

  • Duration: 1 week
  • Eligibility: Top 10% of participants

Activities include:

  • Advanced lectures and workshops
  • Policy discussions and group projects
  • Site visits and networking opportunities
  • This is a fully immersive international experience in Italy

Eligibility Criteria for Open Global Power 2026

Applicants must:

  • Be 24–35 years old (by April 13, 2026)
  • Be a citizen of:
    • Any African country
    • Brazil
    • Chile
  • Reside or plan to relocate to these regions by end of 2026
  • Hold a Master’s, MBA, or PhD degree (Bachelor’s only is NOT eligible)
  • Have at least one degree from Africa, Brazil, or Chile
  • Show strong interest in the energy sector
  • Be fluent in English (CEFR C1 level)
  • Women are strongly encouraged to apply (50% gender balance goal)
